We all need to shop, so why not take advantage of the deals specifically marketed towards seniors? There are more discounts available than most people are aware of, because not all stores actively advertise or offer senior discounts even when they are available.
This article highlights some of the stores that offer discounts to seniors and includes the discount amount and age requirements. We also share what type of goods the store carries, the number of locations, and regions you can find their retail stores.
We have tried to include a wide variety of shopping options to cover all of your needs.
However, we have not included grocery stores as those discounts are found in a separate article, Grocery Store Discounts for Seniors.
If one of your favorite stores are listed below, it doesn’t mean they don’t offer a discount. The stores chosen for this list are due to various factors, including accessibility, discount amount, and discount requirements.
Additionally, we have provided a link directly to the senior discount so you can better learn about the available choices and any guidelines applicable to their use.
Also, some stores may offer discounts that have shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. These stores have opted to close to support the safety and health of their employees and customers. TJ Maxx and Marshalls are two department stores that could offer senior discounts, but at this time, we were unable to verify that information.
Though most of the discounts are dependent on age, there is one that requires a free AARP membership. The stores listed below have multiple locations throughout the US, plus most have an online presence.
Plus, some of the stores allow you to set up an account, so the discount is applied every time it is eligible, taking the guesswork out of your shopping experience.
There are a variety of stores listed below, including department stores, thrift stores, pharmacies, and craft stores.
